Using the program in Language Labs (or over a network).
The program has features which make it possible (by the use of file sharing) for several copies of the program to utilize a single database, or a set of databases for several languages, located on the apple-talk or ether-talk network server.
To utilize this option you should:
• Set up the apple(ether)-talk network, configure file sharing and dedicate the file server.
• Put the database(s) into a single folder on this server;
• Install copies of the program on client computers.
• if you do not want to give the users permission to change the database or if your server is write-protected then you should open the Preferences window and uncheck the: Allow User Making Changes? option on each "client" computer.
Another suggestion for using the program in the language lab is to define groups of words that should be known by students at certain levels, to give them the opportunity to practise them, read the comments, and play the sounds. This can be done by creating groups with names like Level A, Level B, etc. These groups can be updated as students learn more words. Groups can be created in Multiple Groups view, and particular groups can be chosen for exercises and tests.
